01

  • Interior Architecture is applied early on in the design process as we advise architects and builders in the placement of key structural requirements which will affect how the space will flow and function.

With comprehensive experience from the construction industry Ennen & Co are specialised in translating designs from paper to built environments and have an innate understanding of the logistics of putting a project together.

02

  • At Ennen & Co our Interior Designers are involved in all aspects of the planning and finishing of a project, making sure the spaces flow and function as well as being responsible for art and overall design direction.

As interior designers our primary task is to listen, explore and understand our clients’ preferences and lifestyle to achieve their unique aesthetic.

03

  • We offer Interior Decorating & Styling Services as an integrated part of our larger projects, so that the vision of the space is designed in a holistic manner, or as a service on its own.

Interior Decorating & Styling come into the project towards completion, where we apply our incredibly creative and imaginative eye for the surface level finishes and aesthetics.

Our process

We appreciate a well-designed process is required to execute our works and design ideas. We believe that we gain the best outcome through open dialogue and concise drawings and documents.

Our Interior Architecture practice follows a process developed from years of experience. A process that ensures the highest level of creativity as well as accurate and clear transfer of information to the builder.

  • Outline of project as developed in conjunction by client and designer.

This gives us the framework for us to work through. This will be accompanied by any drawings from architect/ builder to assist with visualisation of the project.

  • Reviewing the layout of the space and interpreting the clientsʼ needs. Furniture locations impact the electrical, circulation and window locations. Changes to the plan may be required and will be discussed with you, the client, and forwarded to the architect/builder.

The architect/builder is then responsible to review any implications (such as engineering/ plumbing/ air conditioning) if required.

  • This is the initial design phase, focusing on the appearance and functionality of the spaces.

Selection of: Finishes (flooring, joinery, lighting, bathrooms, paint colours, materials etc.) Storage requirements and the appearance of them.

The selection of PC items (tap ware, sanitary ware, hardware). Lighting concepts.

  • Making firm decisions on the concept design, changing any design items as required. Resolving the design for the process of documentation.

  • Documenting the design, firstly for tender to builders, and then for the builder to use for the construction of the building.

The drawings for the interior items in our scope will be detailed and then forwarded onto the builder to add to his documentation package.

The builder will then control the issuing of these documents to the relevant trades. Ennen & Co. expects any joiner to produce independent shop drawings to be reviewed and signed off by Ennen & Co. before commencement of the job.

  • At Ennen & Co. we like to be involved with the quality control of the interior works.

This ensures we can follow up on any issues that arise on site regarding the works we have designed. We find it imperative to supervise trades and have meetings with joiners, electricians, stone masons and tilers during the process to ensure the details are carried out as per our design and expectations.

  • Selection of furniture items to compliment the surrounding space. Ordering and procurement, co-ordination of delivery and installation.
